About this venue
Slagthuset occupies Malmö's former municipal slaughterhouse, designed by city architect Salomon Sörensen and opened in 1904. The red-brick complex a few blocks from Stortorget now houses concerts, stand-up, conferences, trade fairs and corporate events. The Teatern hall seats 921 on a 12 x 16 m stage with four dressing rooms, a staffed cloakroom, bar and pizzeria; the Saluhallen holds up to 1,500 standing for larger concerts, and the restaurant room suits smaller jazz, stand-up and singer-songwriter evenings. Further halls (Södra Hallen, Norra Hallen, Hantverksgången) are let for meetings and events. Public entrance for the theatre is from Navigationsgatan 4; load-in is from Navigationsgatan 2. Concert enquiries and room-hire enquiries go to separate booking contacts via the venue website.
