About this venue

Southwell Methodist Church is a Grade II listed Wesleyan chapel of 1839 on Prebend Passage, off Westgate in Southwell, built of brick with stone dressings and a moulded pediment carrying a shaped datestone inscribed "Wesley Chapel". The church and its hall are used by community groups and are hired out, and the building is a small performance venue for choirs and theatre groups; it is one of the venues of the Southwell Music Festival.
