About this venue
St Mary Magdalen Bermondsey is the Church of England parish church on Bermondsey Street, between London Bridge and Bermondsey. A church of this dedication has stood on the site since 1290, serving the lay workers of Bermondsey Abbey; most of the present Grade II* listed building dates from 1690 and came through both Victorian redevelopment and the Blitz intact.
It holds Sunday services with weekly Holy Communion and opens for prayer on Friday lunchtimes, and its building is used for community events and concerts, including by outside organisations and charities.
