St Michael-in-the-Hamlet Church

St Michael's Church, also known as St Michael-in-the-Hamlet, is a parish church in St Michael's Hamlet in south Liverpool, close to the city centre. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as Grade I listed, and is one of three churches in Liverpool built by John Cragg, who used many cast-iron components made at his own Mersey Iron Foundry. A St Michael's 1815 Heritage Association, set up in 2025, cares for the building and runs regular events and fundraising activities.

The church has recently established itself as a venue for music and the arts through St Michael's Live, an initiative bringing live music and arts into the body of the church, ticketed through Skiddle. Both the church and its hall are available for hire, booked through the Hallmaster system.

The church hall is a separate building a short walk away on Belgrave Road, L17 7AG. Recently refurbished, it offers a main hall, meeting rooms, a catering-standard kitchen and accessible toilets, and is let for a wide range of activities alongside its regular church use. Worship is on Sunday at 10am and Wednesday at 11am.
