Inigo Jones's 1633 parish church on the west side of Covent Garden Piazza, known as the Actors' Church and a regular concert and theatre venue.
About this venue
St Paul's, Covent Garden was designed by Inigo Jones for the 4th Earl of Bedford and completed in 1633. Its portico faces the Piazza, while the entrance for visitors is through the churchyard garden on Bedford Street.
Long associated with the theatre community, it is known as the Actors' Church and carries memorials to Charlie Chaplin, Noel Coward, Vivien Leigh, Ivor Novello, Barbara Windsor and Diana Rigg among many others. It hosts concerts, ticketed theatre including its Theatre in the Garden season, weddings and private hire, and is normally open to visitors 9am to 5.30pm on weekdays.
