About this venue
The Stadthalle Offenbach in the Tempelsee district opened in May 1966 and was one of the first halls in the Rhine-Main area able to stage mass events; Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Genesis, Frank Zappa, U2, Lou Reed, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd all played here between the 1960s and 1980s, earning it the nickname "Home of Rock'n'Roll". It is run by Stadthalle Offenbach Veranstaltungs GmbH within the Stadtwerke Offenbach events division, with the Capitol Theater as its partner house.
The centrepiece is the Großer Saal (23 x 47 m, 7 m high, about 750 m² net), with the stage on the long side: a fixed stage plus a hydraulic forestage give up to 9 x 18 m. Capacity including the balcony is about 3,700 at unseated concerts, about 2,000 with row seating and a small stage, and about 1,700 with row seating and a large stage; the balcony has 436 fixed seats. The Foyer and Wandelgang, the Neues Foyer, a conference room and the backstage area are let for smaller events. Current programming spans international pop and metal tours, brass-band and Oberkrainer evenings, comedy and dance shows, alongside trade fairs, conferences, balls and company meetings.
