About this venue

The Black Diamond, also billed as The Black Diamond Club, is a live-entertainment and private-hire venue on Lower Harding Street in Northampton town centre, styled with 1920s Art Deco black-and-gold interiors. Its programme is aimed largely at an over-30s crowd. It covers tribute nights, Motown and soul parties, decade-themed day parties, house music all-dayers, comedy, burlesque, boxing and wrestling, plus weekly dance classes and a community choir. Food is served daily from 10am to 3.30pm. For hire, the whole venue holds up to 499 standing or 300 seated. It has a grand stage, a dance floor with professional lighting and a private bar, and a separate private suite holds up to 80 guests. It is let for weddings, private parties, wakes, corporate events and daytime functions, and the team can help source DJs and bands. The main entrance and bar are step-free, there is partial step-free access near the performance space, and accessible toilets are in the main bar area. Mayorhold car park is about six minutes' walk away, and Northampton station about eight.
