About this venue
The Black Swan is the music, dance and performance venue in the basement of Newcastle Arts Centre, reached from a planted, private courtyard off Westgate Road.
It is a deliberately flexible arts space, used for jazz, world music, Latin, folk, occasional classical concerts, performance art and theatre, as well as weddings, parties and conferences. There are two stages: a larger one in the venue room for formal performances and a smaller one in the bar for informal sharings. Hire includes a staffed and licensed bar, licensed door staff, stage lighting, a dressing room and use of the courtyard.
