About this venue
Barnsley Civic is a creative arts hub combining a raked-seating theatre, contemporary art gallery, exhibition space and workshop rooms. The Assembly Theatre seats up to 394 with raked seating retracted to a 250-capacity flat floor for events; other hireable spaces include the Old Art School (workshops/classes), the Studio Theatre (small-scale performance), the Hanson Room (parties) and two meeting rooms. The Gallery (Tue-Sat, free entry) is fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet, large-format/easy-read exhibition text and BSL interpretation available on request.
