The Eagle and Child, on St Giles', is a Grade II listed pub famous as the regular meeting place of the Inklings literary group, including J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. It has been closed since 2020 and is undergoing a full restoration, led by Foster + Partners on behalf of the Ellison Institute of Technology, with reopening planned for spring 2027.
