The Fighting Cocks is an independently run rock bar and live music venue at 56 Old London Road, Kingston upon Thames, active since the 1930s and under its current independent ownership since 2000. The bar has a US-diner look with bat-wing ceiling fans, pool tables, arcade games and a jukebox, with disabled access to all areas including the attached club venue.
The 150-capacity club room hosts touring and local bands across rock, alternative, metal (death, thrash, doom and sludge), punk, ska, nu-metal, hard rock and indie rock, plus quiz nights, D&D sessions and monthly film screenings. Every Monday, Outside the Box Comedy presents stand-up in the same room, with a history of major names including Robin Williams, Jimmy Carr and Lenny Henry. The room also operates as a rehearsal space with an in-house PA, three microphones and a full backline (drum kit, bass and guitar cabs) available by the hour.
