The Grove occupies converted Victorian stables on St Michael's Road in Byker, close to Byker Metro. It runs over two floors: first and foremost a 350-capacity music hall with an L-Acoustics system, alongside a bar with 18 taps, a cocktail bar, a large courtyard with weekend food traders and a roof terrace with a big screen.
The programme moves from gigs and club nights to film screenings, markets, workshops, drag karaoke, yard sales and conferences. The downstairs venue is fully accessible and has a viewing platform; children are welcome until 9pm and dogs are allowed midweek.
