The Hope & Ruin is a pub on Queens Road, a few doors up from Brighton station, with a laid-back reclaimed-material interior and craft beer on the ground floor.
Its upstairs room is one of the city's core grassroots live music spaces, programming gigs, club nights, DJs and a weekly open mic. The kitchen is run by the vegan kebab outfit Beelzebab.
