About this venue
The Minster and Parish Church of St George has occupied its site for over 800 years; the present Victorian building was designed by George Gilbert Scott and consecrated in 1858 after the medieval church burned down in 1853. A Grade I listed landmark in the city centre, it is "open for visitors, concerts, exhibitions, lectures, recitals and services" and hosts a hall available for hire alongside its own worship programme.
