About this venue
The Nico Ditch is a bar, not the earthwork it is named after: the Nico Ditch is a scheduled ancient monument, a six-mile linear earthwork dug between the 5th and 11th centuries running between Ashton and Manchester. The bar opened in the former Holloways leather goods shop at 52 Old Street, Ashton-under-Lyne.
It serves cocktails, natural and fine wines, two changing guest cask beers and eight craft keg lines, plus charcuterie and coffee. Wooden-floored rooms run back from the tiled Old Street bar to a second entrance on Bow Street, with an inner courtyard and outside seating at both doors. The upstairs room seats 35 and is available for functions.
