The Water Rats
Grade II listed King's Cross pub with a small back-room live music venue that has run since 1992.
About this venue
The Water Rats is a pub on Gray's Inn Road in King's Cross with an intimate stage in the back room, hosting an eclectic line-up of up-and-coming bands, comedy and private events. It opened under its present name in 1992; the building had traded for over a century before that as the Pindar of Wakefield, known for old-time music hall.
Bob Dylan played his first UK show on the premises in December 1962. The pub was fully refurbished in 2015 and serves food daily alongside the gig programme. The operator does not publish a capacity, so none is recorded here.
