About this venue
The Yard is a producing theatre in a converted warehouse in Hackney Wick, founded by Jay Miller in 2011 and now an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. It stages new writing and adventurous contemporary productions - its 2026-27 season includes "for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf" and "Lear" - and runs an active club programme on Friday and Saturday nights on a nightclub-standard sound system, with past residencies including AD93, Percolate, NTS and Jon K & Swing Ting.
Press reports the company is due to move into a new purpose-built venue nearby in 2026, which may change these figures; this record should be rechecked once that opens.
