About this venue
The Theater an der Uni is a theatre hall directly on the University of Regensburg campus, housed in the Studierendenhaus am Forum. It offers up to 100 square metres of stage and about 200 seats, and is run by the cultural programme of the Studierendenwerk Niederbayern/Oberpfalz (STWNO) as a stage for the campus theatre scene. Productions are usually developed by student ensembles, and the programme takes in concerts, improvised theatre, dance theatre, and classical and modern productions of German and foreign-language plays.
The autumn 2026 programme includes an Ostrovsky comedy in Russian with German surtitles, an ensemble-devised piece, Hedda Gabler and The Seagull, and the theatre also hosts performances of the Regensburger Tanztage. Student groups can use the theatre for productions and events on terms set by the STWNO, which also advises on lighting and sound; tickets are reserved through the STWNO reservation page.
