About this venue
The theater im centrum, tic for short, is a free musical theatre on Akazienweg near the KulturBahnhof in Kassel, run by the theater im centrum e.V. The curtain first rose in May 2003 with the musical "Boygroup"; since then the theatre has established itself without subsidies, premiering more than 30 self-written musicals, many with a regional connection, and giving about 160 to 200 performances a year with three to four premieres. Its auditorium is a converted former worship room.
The 2026/27 programme includes the road musical "Sind wir bald da? – Familie Müller auf Achse" from 16 October 2026, the children's show "Eine Woche voller Samstage" from 14 November, the Elvis Christmas show "One Night Like Christmas" from 27 November and guest performances. Since the start of 2025 the theatre has been led by Fabian Joel Walter and Juliane Wetzel. The nearest stops are Karthäuserstraße (tram) and Kulturbahnhof (RegioTram).
