About this venue
theCUT bills itself as Newcastle's alternative inner-city club space. Set just off St Nicholas' Street in the old town, it has traded for well over a decade on a raw, stripped-back room built around the sound system, with low ceilings and cushioned corners that give it a loft-party feel.
The music policy runs from indie, rock, punk, post-punk, new wave and Britpop through to disco, house and techno, across resident weekly nights. The main room is complemented by the adjoining Loja SkyBar, and the venue is available for private hire.
