About this venue
Times Square is the open public square beside the International Centre for Life, just west of Newcastle Central Station, and the city's only large outdoor city-centre performance space. It is used for events all year round: large-scale outdoor concerts and festivals in the summer, street-food and beer events, big-screen sport, and a temporary ice rink in winter.
Recent programming has been run by EVNT Live in partnership with Newcastle City Council and the Centre for Life, under the Times Square Live banner - multi-day runs mixing tribute festivals, daytime discos and country and K-pop bills. The square is also the address of the Digital nightclub, which sits inside the Centre for Life building and is listed separately.
