Trafalgar Square is a public square in the City of Westminster, laid out in the early 19th century around the area formerly known as Charing Cross and dominated by Nelson's Column. It is owned and managed by the Greater London Authority, which takes bookings for events on it — cultural celebrations such as Diwali on the Square, commercial events, rallies and demonstrations, and filming and photographic shoots. The minimum hire period is one hour. The GLA publishes no capacity figure for the square.
