About this venue
The Turmtheater sits high above Regensburg's old town on the sixth floor of the historic Goliath-Haus at Watmarkt 5, with the cathedral close by. Founded in 1990, it was turned into a cinema seven years later and returned to live performance in 2009. It is run by the association Kulturturm Regensburg e.V. as an independent cultural venue that gives professional and independent theatre-makers from the city and region a stage. The programme takes in comedies, crime comedies, drama, cabaret, improvised theatre, revues and performances, as well as panel discussions and readings.
The theatre room has 79 seats, partly tiered, a professionally equipped stage of about 29 square metres with lighting and sound, and its own bar. It is let by the full or half day for presentations, conferences, company meetings, film screenings, performances and private celebrations, with optional drinks service from the bar and bookable lighting, sound, bar and evening staff. Tickets are sold through OK-Ticket and the Tourist-Info at the Altes Rathaus.
