About this venue
UK14 is a multi-purpose culture and event location at Untere Karlsstraße 14, just off the Königsplatz in Kassel's city centre. Opened in early 2020, it offers eight event rooms over two floors with more than 920 m² in total: the Atrium, Theater, Kino, Atelier, Manufaktur, Forum, Foyer, Werkstatt and Studio. According to the operator, use is split equally between theatre and music performances and business events and workshops, and the house has also hosted press conferences, exhibitions for the Kassel Museumsnacht and symposia.
The Theater has 120 seats on a raked stand and an 8 × 10 m stage, and serves as both a performance and a conference room. Opening its back wall into the Atelier creates the Forum, about 290 m² with a ceiling height of about 4 m, for large receptions or banquets of up to 90 people, equipped with a PA, a MIDAS sound desk, an ADB Phoenix lighting desk and professional theatre lighting. Events of up to 200 people can be requested. The Königsplatz tram stop and the Mauerstraße bus stop are two to three minutes away, and disabled parking spaces are directly opposite the building.
