About this venue
Kultursalen in Vadsø Kulturhus is the town's main stage, built by Vadsø kommune by converting the old school building in Oscarsgate and completed in June 2018. It replaced Vadsø Samfunnshus as the touring stage for Finnmark's easternmost town.
The auditorium is a raked amphitheatre, with the mixing position at the top behind the seating and house lights controllable either from a panel at front of house or from a switch at the gate between the magazine and the side stage. The stage is medium-sized with a small side stage on the right and a motorised fly bar system installed in August 2018. Load-in is at the back right up a ramp, through the magazine and onto the right of the stage, with empty-case storage in the magazine beside the stage. There is a 63 A 230 V supply in the magazine right by the stage.
Backstage there are two dressing rooms plus a technicians' dressing room immediately by the stage, with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Scandic Vadsø is three minutes' walk away.
