About this venue
Velvet is the late-night Champagne and cocktail bar on the lower ground floor of Corinthia London, on Whitehall Place a short walk from Embankment and Trafalgar Square. It was created in partnership with Salvatore Calabrese, the drinks historian known as "The Maestro", and occupies the room that was formerly the hotel's Bassoon Bar.
The menu sets vintage and pre-Prohibition classics alongside contemporary signatures, and the room is built around a performance bar. Live music runs Tuesday to Saturday from 9pm to midnight. The bar is adults-only and takes a limited number of bookings, with walk-ins welcome.
