About this venue
Williamson Park was created from disused quarry land by the Williamson family and gifted to the city. It is dominated by the Ashton Memorial, a domed Edwardian folly built by Lord Ashton as a memorial to his late wife, with views across Morecambe Bay and the Lake District from its viewing gallery. The park also has woodland walks, play areas, a Butterfly House, and outdoor food and drink concessions.
The ground floor of the Grade I listed Ashton Memorial is available for evening hire, exclusively for the hirer's own event, for weddings, private parties and similar functions between 17:30 and 23:30. Council staff oversee the building throughout; hirers arrange their own catering, as the Memorial has no kitchen.
