About this venue
York Castle Museum, in a former debtors' prison and women's prison next to Clifford's Tower, is best known for Kirkgate, its recreated Victorian street of shopfronts. Outside opening hours Kirkgate is licensed for weddings, civil ceremonies, dinners and parties, and the museum's own team can arrange catering, music and entertainment.
