The Castle Hotel is a Grade II listed pub on Oldham Street in Manchester's Northern Quarter, trading since 1776 under several earlier names before becoming The Castle Hotel in the late 19th century. Its music hall, added in 2010, is an 80-capacity live music venue that has become a fixture of the city's grassroots scene. The pub has a notable place in music history too: it was the site of a 1979 interview between DJ John Peel and Joy Division's Ian Curtis.
