About this venue
The Ferret is Preston's leading grassroots live music pub, in a former cotton mill building on Fylde Road dating from 1794. It opened as Time Square in 1999, became the Mad Ferret, and was renamed The Ferret in September 2013 under new owners, also behind the Continental in Preston.
The pub hosts more than 200 gigs of alternative live music a year alongside open-mic nights and occasional theatre, and keeps five handpumps of cask ale plus a changing cask cider. In May 2024 its future was secured long-term when it was acquired under Music Venue Trust's Own Our Venues scheme.
