An independent pub and live music venue in Manchester's Northern Quarter, spread across three floors of a 19th-century gothic building.
The Rat & Pigeon is an independent pub and live music venue tucked behind Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester's Northern Quarter, run by the team behind the Crown & Kettle. Housed in a three-storey, 19th-century gothic building, the venue rose from the site of the former Mother Mac's, reopening in June 2024 after nine months of renovation.
The ground floor is a traditional pub, the first floor is a live music venue known as the Red Room, and the second floor is a hireable event space and pub extension. The Rat & Pigeon welcomes all genres and hosts free, community-focused live music, with a 90-capacity gig room supporting grassroots and touring artists alike.
