We are expanding horizons with a new Sales Manager
BERGEN: We are excited to announce the addition of Liam Cook to our team. Liam joins Crescat as a Sales Manager and brings with him a wealth of experience from the live music industry in the UK. His extensive knowledge and industry network make him a valuable asset as Crescat looks to expand into new markets.
Originally from England, Liam made the move to Norway this summer, and from October he joined the Crescat team in Bergen. With a decade of experience in the live music industry, he's a seasoned professional who's worked with some of the UK's renowned venues and festivals.
A professional with rich industry experience
Liam's professional journey included a significant tenure at Band on the Wall, a prestigious music venue and national promoter located in Manchester. Additionally, he was doing marketing for the Sound City and Kendal Calling festivals. His deep understanding of the industry and marketing expertise have shaped his perspective on event management.
Liam's educational journey is also highly relevant. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music & Entertainment Management from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), and continued with a master’s degree in Art & Philosophy from the University of Liverpool - which deepened his understanding of the cultural events landscape.
His academic pursuits have always revolved around the philosophical underpinnings of arts and culture, delving into the 'how' and the 'why' as much as the 'what' and 'when.' This reflective approach to the arts has been a guiding light throughout his career and is especially relevant in his role at Crescat.
“Part of what attracted me to Crescat is the team’s commitment to enable events and cultural organisations to realise their full creative potential by making planning and production easier and more collaborative.”, says Liam. “From my experience, these organisations are made up of incredibly passionate, innovative people and the idea of freeing up their time for more creative work and less admin is what excites me about Crescat”.
Liam's vision for Crescat and the event industry
When asked about his first month at Crescat, Liam expresses his enthusiasm and eagerness to be part of the team. "I feel very welcomed; I am part of the team already and am really looking forward to the next phase for Crescat, expanding into new territories," he says.
Liam highlights his vision for Crescat's growth, stating, "I am very excited to bring our software to venues, festivals, and promoters across Europe and beyond. Coming from the industry and having seen how events are planned and managed, I think there is a gap in the market, a real opportunity for event organisers to manage their events more effectively, more successfully. Crescat is much more fun and creative than using spreadsheets."
As part of his new role, Liam's immediate focus is on enhancing brand awareness in the UK market. He aims to leverage his industry insights to promote Crescat's software among venues, festivals, and promoters in the region.
"The live event industry in the UK is diverse and creative, and one of the UK economy’s most prized assets," Liam observes. "I am looking forward to helping the industry grow through better processes and a better working culture.”
