A 1922 receiving house on Canmore Street in Dunfermline, restored and reopened in 2008, programming live music, comedy, dance and theatre.
The Alhambra Theatre stands on the corner of Canmore Street and New Row in Dunfermline. Designed by the local architect John Fraser, it opened on 14 August 1922, later spent years as a cinema and bingo hall, and was restored and reopened as a theatre on 7 June 2008.
It works as a receiving house, taking touring live music, comedy, dance, musicals, ballet and opera, orchestras and children's shows. The auditorium has stalls and a balcony and can be reconfigured between all-seated and part-standing, which is why the published capacity is a range rather than a single figure. The box office is at Lower Mall, Kingsgate Shopping Centre.
