Azvex Brewery & Taproom
An independent brewery tap off Gibraltar Row, pouring its own craft keg and running open mic nights, vinyl parties, tastings and pop-up food alongside brewery tours.
About this venue
Azvex Brewery and Taproom is the tap of Azvex Brewing Company, an independent Liverpool brewery in a unit on the King Edward industrial estate off Gibraltar Row, a few minutes north of the business district and close to the waterfront. The taproom opened in April 2022 and pours around twelve frequently rotating beers on draught from the brewery next door, from hop-forward IPAs and pale ales to stouts and limited releases, with cans to drink in or take away. It has a garden and parking, is dog friendly, and is step-free with an accessible toilet. It opens Thursday to Sunday, and additionally when there are matches or events at the nearby stadium.
The taproom runs a programme of its own rather than only trading as a bar. Its events calendar has carried an open mic night, the Pintucos vinyl night, a vinyl lathe party with The Shipbuilders, beer and whiskey tasting evenings run with a local bottle shop, a Bob Ross painting class, makers markets and screenings of major football tournaments. Brewery tours with tastings run most Fridays and Saturdays and are booked as ticketed events. A rotating pop-up food vendor trades in the taproom each weekend; there is no kitchen of its own.
The whole taproom can be taken for exclusive private hire, and the calendar shows dates on which it has closed to the public for a private event. Enquiries go through the taproom enquiry form on the brewery's site. No guest capacity is published by the operator, so no bookable space has been recorded here.
