About this venue

Käina Huvi- ja Kultuurikeskus is the municipal hobby school, youth centre and culture centre in Käina, southern Hiiumaa. It moved into its rebuilt house in June 2025. The second-floor hall, reached by stairs or a lift from the cloakroom and served by a bright atrium, takes up to 288 seats and is let for concerts, film screenings, conferences, dance training, parties and theatre. The stage has a 7.24 m opening and is 4.77 m deep, with a performers' room, dressing room and three showers alongside. Smaller rooms on the same floor are let too: a club room for up to 15, an exhibition room for up to 25 and teaching rooms each with a piano. The ground-floor youth centre (120.5 m², with a kitchen) is hired for parties and workshops. The house has a grand piano, fixed stage lighting and Wi-Fi, and is wheelchair accessible. Recent programming includes classical piano recitals, cinema screenings and school concerts. The centre also uses Padarimägi, an open-air ground that takes around 2,000 people.
