About this venue
The Flapper is an independent canalside pub and live music venue on Cambrian Wharf in Birmingham city centre, run by the same family since it reopened in 2021 after a campaign saved the building from demolition. The venue has supported Birmingham's grassroots alternative and rock scene since the early 1990s and has hosted early shows from bands including Editors, Pulled Apart By Horses, Future of the Left and Peace.
Live music runs most nights of the week in a dedicated underground gig room with a full PA and lighting rig, a sound engineer included with every booking, and a green room with direct stage access. The room holds 180 standing plus 20 guests. Upstairs, the pub has a large canalside beer garden, real ales and cocktails, pool tables and arcade games, and is dog friendly. The venue is 18+ throughout and operates a Challenge 25 policy.
