About this venue
The Weser-Ems-Hallen on Maastrichter Straße are Oldenburg's main event and trade-fair complex, run by Weser-Ems-Halle Oldenburg GmbH. They include:
- the Große EWE Arena (opened 2013, about 8,000), home of the EWE Baskets Oldenburg basketball team
- the Kleine EWE Arena (2005, about 4,100)
- the Kongresshalle (1975, about 2,500) and the Großer Festsaal (about 660)
- an exhibition hall (1984, about 8,000)
- open-air grounds for up to 20,000
The complex hosts concerts, sport, congresses and fairs.
