USF VERFTET: USF Verftet is the country’s largest co-location for artists, performers and cultural organizations. USF is Bergen’s most active venue on a large scale, and is a regular stop on Norwegian and international music artists’ tour plans. With over 1,000 different events each year and about 150,000 visitors, USF is a major cultural hotspot.
Event manager at USF Verftet, Sindre Didriksen, is clear that having room booking in such a large and bustling cultural arena is incredibly important.

The Verftet’s location has a long and rich history. It started with the shipyard (which is what a ‘verft’ is) that built the world’s fastest sailing ship in the 18th century. Then the textile industry took over and then a sardine factory. By 1993, the artists had gotten their hands on it, renovated it and opened it up to the public. The building has since been transformed into a distinctive place with scenes for music, cinema, eatery and art gallery.
