Shenanigans is an independent Irish bar at 77 Tithebarn Street, in the heart of Liverpool's business district, five minutes' walk from Mathew Street and next to the original Super Lamb Banana. It trades on eclectic decor, a breakfast offer, strong cocktails, a superior coffee and non-alcoholic range, its own Shenanigans lager and what it claims is the best pint of Guinness in the city, with sport shown on multiple screens including on the roof. Tithebarn Street is one of Liverpool's original seven streets, and a drinking establishment has stood on this spot since around 1841.
Live music is a fixed part of the week, not an occasional booking. The bar's published regular programme is: a pub quiz on Mondays 8pm-10pm; a fortnightly traditional Irish music session on Wednesdays 8:30pm-10:45pm; an open mic and performers' night on Thursdays 9pm-11pm; and live music from 8pm until late on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The North Liverpool Business Forum also meets here fortnightly on Wednesday mornings.
Two spaces are let. The function room on the second floor is full of Irish character and comes with a projector, a music system, a fully working bar and a stage for live music; it is used for private parties, Christmas parties and buffets, and no capacity is published for it. The rooftop terrace, open since October 2019, seats around 30 and can be hired on its own or together with the function room. Booking is through a form on the function room page.
