Exit/In has stood at 2208 Elliston Place since 1971, is the anchor of Elliston Place and reason the strip is known as The Rock Block. Exit/In is locally, independently, and family owned and operated. The history and cultural importance cannot be overstated. Take one look at the Wall Of Fame, on the front of the building, to begin understanding the magnitude of the performances that have taken place at the storied club. To dive a bit deeper, check out the mural on the side of the building, the interior Wall Of Fame, and interior photos. EVERY NAME HAS PLAYED HERE; EVERY PHOTO WAS TAKEN HERE. The complete list of performers numbers in the tens of thousands, and includes: Etta James, Rosanne Cash, Johnny Cash, Linda Rondstadt, Talking Heads, Billy Joel, Muddy Waters, Leonard Cohen, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Willie Nelson, Chuck Berry, Sharon Jones, Kings Of Leon, Lucinda Williams, The Allman Brothers Band, Cage The Elephant, REM, and so many more… While the list of names is long, the worldwide list of clubs with this much history is very short. Exit/In and clubs like it are disappearing due to gentrification, development, and corporatization. We are dedicated to preservation of the past.
